Born and raised in New York City, Arthur Keller graduated from Brooklyn College with honors in mathematics and in computer and information science. A National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship brought him to Palo Alto in 1977 as a graduate student at Stanford University where he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, and then returned to Palo Alto to teach and do research at Stanford.
Professionally, Arthur has made important scientific contributions in the computer field. He has also taught at UC Santa Cruz, where he continues as a researcher. He is a data scientist who advises startups and serves as a technical expert witness in the area of patent law.
Arthur has been a South Palo Alto resident and homeowner for 29 years. His mother, Luba, is also a Palo Alto resident active in seniors programs. His twin daughters, Reta and Sophie, attended Palo Alto schools, inspiring his extensive volunteer leadership for our schools.
